SAIL AWAY

HH Catamarans launched Hull 01 in our new line of luxury performance cruising cats in April. After extensive test pool systems checks, HH6601 R-SIX left the Hudson Yacht & Marine yard and made her way to Xiamen Island to begin sea trials. An all-star team including builders Paul Hakes, Riccardo Marton and William Jelbert, Morrelli & Melvin designer Gino Morrelli, Southern Spars' Torborjn Linderston, Evolution Sails' Rodney Keenan, Electrical Engineer Carlos Van Camp, Rigger Scott Gray, and Captain Chris Bailet, put R-SIX through the paces over the course of two weeks. The boat's captain and crew joined in on the action, and with the help of the HH team have now begun preparations to ship the boat to Spain. This impeccable yacht will be based in the Med for now. Her itinerary includes cruising in Spain and France, her big debut at the Cannes show in September and her first appearance on the start line later this fall. Everyone at HH is thrilled with the finished product and couldn't be more proud and excited to send R-SIX on her way. Fair winds!

ABUZZ

While the commissioning team has had their hands full with R-SIX, it's been business as usual for the production crew at the Hudson Yacht & Marine yard. The HH line is abuzz with 5 66s and 2 55s currently underway. The latest build to commence, HH66-06 is beginning to take shape, with hull laminate layup now in full swing. In addition to substantial progress on each boat, the yard has recently completed a full scale mock-up of the HH55 interior, allowing clients and prospective buyers to get a true sense of the layout and space. If you'd like to learn more about any of these incredible boats or the construction methods we employ, contact a member of our team today

SPOTLIGHT: RICARDO MARTON

Don't let his laid back posture and easy-breezy attitude fool you, Riccardo Marton is a force to be reckoned with on the international boat building scene. Anyone who built a high performance, luxury cruising cat in South Africa from 2000 to 2012 knows and loves Riccardo, as he was a fixture at multiple yards there during the early days of the ever-growing segment. Riccardo brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience when he joined the team four years ago, and that knowledge and experience has cemented his role as a leader both on the factory floor and the water. Riccardo's boat building expertise allows him to design, construct and troubleshoot just about any system on the boat, and his winning personality and megawatt smile make him a beacon of positivity. He's charismatic, multilingual, tough as nails and kind as can be, and we consider ourselves lucky to know and work alongside him.
